Interpon ExteriorInnovations in the field of sustainability, durability and fabulous metallic colours of Interpon powder coatings for architects and specifiers will be the key themes of AkzoNobel Powder Coatings’ presence at the ZAK World of Facades Vietnam 2022 conference in Hanoi on November 24, 2022.

Speaking at the Conference will be AkzoNobel Powder Coatings’ County Sales Manager Hanna Nguyen, who is a business leader and expert in the infrastructure and construction industry. Hanna will be discussing ‘Powder Coating Technology for the Built Environment’, which will cover the life cycle of powder coatings and how its durability can support sustainability. She will also discuss the latest colours and design collections for facades, and high-quality special effect metallic finishes for both interior and exterior which are achieved with AkzoNobel’s breakthrough bonding technology, as well as a second powder coating plant now fast becoming operational in North Vietnam to serve the expanding needs of the local market.

Among the new products being shown in the region for the first time is the Anodic range that has the stunning look of anodized aluminum, but with a minimal environmental impact. The range is available in an amazing range of colours and makes the ideal alternative to anodized aluminum for windows and facades. An Interpon D2000 Anodic III finish delivers superior colour and gloss retention and better colour consistency.

Also being shown for the first time is the Interpon Futura range. Featuring a super durable performance supported by a 25-year warranty, the Futura range boasts 50 beautiful on-trend colours designed to help us feel closer to our natural environment, safe in the knowledge that our creations, and our world, are now better protected.

As with the Anodic powder coatings, metallic colours within the Interpon Futura range are possible thanks to AkzoNobel’s unique bonding technology. This means the metallic pigments are chemically bonded (as opposed to mechanically blended) to the base powder, to give far greater luster, consistency, and performance.

Maximilien Schreder, regional commercial director South Asia for AkzoNobel Powder Coatings speaks to the importance of innovation: “Our customers expect innovation not only in the products we create, but also in the processes we deliver. With our superb range of metallic effect powder coatings, supported by our investment in new facilities and new manufacturing technology, we are excited about sharing our expertise with customers at the ZAK World of Facades.”

ZAK World of Facades will also provide an opportunity for AkzoNobel to showcase Wild Wonder – Interpon’s newly announced Colour of the Year 2023. It’s one in a palette of eight new colours inspired by nature within the Interpon Futura range.

New Bacharach Sling Psychrometer

CFCM slingpsychrometer 400Paul N. Gardner USA, global distributors, producers, and designers of quality physical and inspection instruments for the paint, coatings, and related industries, has introduced a new offering: The compact, portable Sling Psychrometer.

As an easy way to measure relative humidity levels quickly, this uniquely compact Bacharach Sling Psychrometer accurately determines per cent relative humidity without the necessity of consulting complex tables. There is no need to wet the wick each time a reading is taken, and it contains a slide rule calculator which correlates wet and dry bulb thermometer indications for direct reading of relative humidity. When not in use, the thermometer case telescopes into the handle for protection.

The Sling Psychrometer consists of two thermometers that are turned by vigorously swinging the handle and exposing the thermometers to rapid air movement. These two thermometers are called dry bulb and wet bulb. The bulb of one thermometer is placed in direct contact with the room air to measure dry-bulb air temperature. The bulb of the other thermometer is covered with a silk or muslin sleeve that is kept moist to record the wet bulb temperature. Evaporation cools the wet bulb more than the dry bulb, and the humidity is obtained as a function of change in temperature. The atmospheric humidity is determined by calculations, steam tables, or using a psychrometric chart. Gardco.com
