Microban International and Everbrite have joined forces to develop CrobialCoat, a coating that combines Microban antimicrobial technology and Everbrite ProtectaClear to provide surface protection and cleanliness.

CrobialCoat is a durable, clear and adhesive coating designed to provide longlasting product protection from rust, salt damage, tarnish, corrosion, and oxidation on most surfaces, with the added benefit of built-in antimicrobial technology, the companies say.

Microban is designed to inhibit microbial growth on highly polished or matte metals, ceramics, hard plastics, and hardwoods. It works at a cellular level to continually disrupt the growth and reproduction of microorganisms that contaminate a treated surface by damaging the proteins, cell membranes, DNA and internal systems of microbes.

The infusion of Microban antimicrobial technology into CrobialCoat during manufacture provides an extra level of product protection against the growth of microbes that lasts for the life of the coating, the companies say. The end product is ideal for high-touch environments where cleanliness is of particular importance in both home and commercial settings such as schools, hospitals, dining and hospitality venues, and restrooms.

“We are proud to partner with Everbrite to bring this novel protective coating to market,” says Eric Blaeser, Director of Business Development at Microban. “The inclusion of Microban ‘always on’ technology in CrobialCoat will help Everbrite to deliver antimicrobial product protection to a wide range of surfaces, even in extreme environmental conditions.”

Everbrite President Teresa Sedmak adds: “Although the recent pandemic has highlighted the importance of keeping our vulnerable populations safe from unchecked viral spread, it’s become all too easy to forget about the host of average germs and microbes that still plague us. That’s why we’re so pleased to introduce CrobialCoat as a useful tool in this fight. Just one coating offers effective product protection against the growth of damaging bacteria. You just apply it, and know that the surface is protected, and that the protection will not wash off. It’s really that easy.”
