Gema USA Inc. has promoted Mike Thies to the position of general manager. Thies has held multiple positions during his more than 36-year tenure with the company and has been the director of sales and engineering since 2010.  As a graduate of ITT Technical Institute, with a degree in Electrical Technology, Thies entered the finishing industry in 1986, and started his career at Gema as an electrical assembler.

Thies is an active contributor within several organizations including the Gema representative on the National Fire Protection Association Chapter 33 committee, Powder Coating Institute technical committee, ASTM, and the pipe coating association, NAPCA.  Thies’ engineering abilities has also been rewarded with several US patents.
