Dymax is offering a new oligomer, BDT 1015. This is for flexible surfaces, plastics especially. It is a dendritic oligomer, which means it will build up layer by layer. It will adhere to a variety of substrates, including ABS, acrylic, polycarbonate, PMMA, aluminum, glass and stainless steel. This range of oligomers is resistant to decomposition at high temperatures, and offers excellent acid and chemical resistance. This product’s viscosity is 31,275 cP at 25 deg. C, with a tensile strength of 2,100 psi. Its elongation is two percent, its elastic modulus is 104 ksi, and its durometer hardness is 96D. Dendritic polyether oligomers form hyper-branched polymer networks when cured to themselves, to other monomers and to oligomers, and have an acrylated functionality of 16 or greater. The are typically incorporated into formulations at 35 to 70 percent by eight. www.dymax.com
